Where did the name "Yubi Bubi" come from?
Yubi Bubi is named after one of December's special needs cats, Yubu. Yubu was found all alone in a pile of dirt only two days old. Frail and near death, he came to live with December, her house full of permanent resident cats, and four foster kittens of the same age. He was bottle fed and nursed back to health, and after a couple near death experiences at the age of two weeks, Yubu pulled though and grew up to be one of the most fascinating creatures on earth. Refered to by his mother as a "dog in a cat suit", Yubu loves to play fetch, beg for food, and pay his debt to society by helping to raise the foster kittens that come to the house by bathing them, cuddling them when no-one else will, and teaching them first hand how to be naughty little kittens.
Why is it better to have someone come to my house than to put my pets in a boarding facility?
Pets are very territorial and are most comfortable in their own environments. Boarding kennels are full of unfamiliar smells and sounds as well as other animals and your pet can become easily frightened. It is also possible that your pet may contract a contagious disease while visiting a kennel. Keeping your pet in its own home environment will eliminate a major portion of the stress involved in you having to go away. When you hire Yubi Bubi's to care for your pets in your home, you can rest assured they are being loved and attended to just like you would do yourself if you were there.
Does Yubi Bubis Take Care of Dogs?
Most dogs require 24 hour care and can not be left home alone like cats can. For this reason, our in-home service caters primarily to cats. Occasionally, for the right dog at the right time, we are happy to play host here at our house. We enjoy the company of another dog around here. So if you think it might work with your dog, please don't hesitate to ask.

Obviously, the only way you can really know is by hearing good things about us from your friends. Word of mouth will be our best advertising. Unfortunately, as we are a new business, it will take time for the word to get out. In the meantime, you will have to rely on the word of some very important people in the local pet care community. December Foster, proprietor of Yubi Bubi's Lonely Pets Rescue was born and raised in Penticton BC. She has recently returned home after 12 years in Victoria. Most recently, December was the theatre manager at Penticton's own professional live theatre "Okanagan Stage". The theatre has closed for the winter season, but during her time there, December was entrusted with the general well being and security of the theatre and is now known in her community for her good work and strong committment to that project.
